Charlotte and Eli: Summer Wedding at the NC Arboretum in Asheville, NC
When Charlotte emailed me describing how she met Eli in college and her anticipation of having an emotional wedding day, I was so excited to potentially book their wedding. Soon after we made it official, they made the trip down from Washington D.C. for an engagement session. It was another 12 month before their big day arrived, but I looked forward to it all that year and had a feeling that it would be a great wedding to photograph. I knew including nature in their big day was very important to them, and the days leading up to the wedding kept indicating, no matter how many times I checked, that it would likely rain. As much of the wedding day ended up indoors, I really wanted to capture as many outdoor photos with Charlotte and Eli as possible. We made the most of being outside in the garden for their photos before the ceremony. Each wedding is different and Eli and Charlotte started their photography, not with getting ready photos, but with their first look. The arboretum provided the perfect long pathway for Charlotte and it was amazing to catch those moments of anticipation before she rounded the corner to see Eli for the first. I was so lucky to photograph a wedding with a couple that was so centered with the significance of their day – it was certainly a wedding full of joy and tenderness.
